This is the home of both fantasy NASCAR games: salary cap and Top 10. The rules and scoring system for both games are below the picture. If you are new to the games and wish to play, e-mail me at mwls5960@gmail.com and put "Fantasy NASCAR 2025" in the subject line.
2025 League Rules (salary cap game)
1. All drivers who drove a car in 2024, whether full- or part-time, have been assigned a salary for the 2025 season that is determined by their performance in 2024. The factors that went into determining their salary are: races started, wins, second place finishes, top fives, top tens, top 15's, top 20's, poles won, laps run, laps led, final standings (for playoff drivers only), fantasy points scored, quality passes, green flag passes, fastest laps run, lead lap finishes, laps in the top 15, stage wins, and stage points. The drivers were then put into groups of five (for the first five groups) according to their salary. There is a sixth group that contains all drivers not in the first five groups.
2. This is a salary cap league. The salary cap for the first 13 races is $90 million, for races 14-26 it will be $92 million, and for the final 10 races it is $94 million. You are to pick a total of eight drivers each week: one from each of the six groups with a portion of your money, and then two "wildcard" drivers with your remaining money.
3. Drivers' salaries are not static; they will change according to performance in each race as follows: the winner's salary will increase by $200K; the driver who finishes 2nd will have his salary increase by $150K; those finishing 3rd-5th will have their salary increase by $100K; those finishing 6th-10th will have their salary increase by $75K; the driver who finishes last will have his salary decrease by 2%; the rest of the bottom 10 (31st-39th, or whatever corresponds to the number of cars entered) will have their salary decrease by 1%. Those finishing in between will not change.
4. Reseeding of drivers will occur after every race, when necessary.
5. Drivers score points each week in these ways:
A.) Starting position: the driver on the pole gets 50 points, P2 gets 49 points, P3 gets 48 points, etc. B.) Finishing position: the winner gets 200 points, 2nd place gets 195 points, 3rd place gets 190 points, etc. C.) Finishing bonus: the winner gets 200 points, 2nd place gets 100 points, 3rd-5th get 75 points, 6th-10th get 50 points D.) Positive movement points: 2 points per spot improved from starting position to finishing position E.) Laps led: one point per lap led F.) Lead lap finish: 5 points for cars that finish the race on the lead lap G.) Stage wins: stage one and stage two winners (and stage three for the Coke 600) get 50 points H.) Stage points: stage points earned are worth 5 points each I.) Quality passes:***THIS ONLY PERTAINS TO PLATE TRACKS DAYTONA ,TALLADEGA, AND ATLANTA*** 0.5 points per quality pass. Odd numbered points (69.5, for example) will be rounded up (69.5 becomes 70). J.) Loop data leaders: ***NEW FOR 2025*** laps led leader will get 100 points, quality passes leader will get 80 points, fastest laps leader will get 60 points, top 15 laps leader will get 40 points, and green flag passes leader will get 20 points
6. Besides the points scored by the drivers on your roster, there will be four more opportunities to score points: pick the race winner and the last place finisher each week. Neither of these have to be on your race roster. Correct picks of either one are worth 200 points. If you pick both correctly the same week, you will receive an additional 200 points. If your pick for race winner finishes 2nd, you will get 100 points; if your pick for last place finishes 39th (or next to last; that number will change if the field contains less than 40 cars), you will also get 100 points. If 4 of your 8 drivers finish in the top 10, you will receive 200 bonus points; if 5 finish in the top 10, you will receive 400 bonus points; if 6 finish in the top 10, you will receive 600 bonus points; if 7 finish in the top 10, you will receive 800 bonus points; and if all 8 of your drivers finish in the top 10, you will receive 1000 bonus points. For the five wide game, if four of your drivers finish in the top 10, you will receive 200 bonus points; if all five of your drivers finish in the top 10, you will receive 500 bonus points.
7. Weekly rosters are to be turned in to me via e-mail (mwls5960@gmail.com) at any time prior to the start of the race.
8. You can make as many (or as few) changes to your roster as you want from week to week. You can go with a completely new roster each week, or the same roster each week, or anything in-between, as long as the roster is under the cap.
9. If I don't receive a roster update from a league member prior to the race, I will assume that no changes to that person's roster were to be made, and that person's roster from the previous week will be used again. However, if the roster, due to changes in driver salaries, exceeds the salary cap, I will use "commissioner's discretion" to make changes to the roster to get it back under the cap, starting with the group 6 pick and proceeding to the cheaper of the two wildcard picks if necessary. In addition, if a person's roster contains one or more drivers not racing that week, I will replace those driver(s) with driver(s) that are racing; and if a person's roster contains a choice for last place that is not racing, that choice will be replaced with the driver who qualifies last for the race.
10. A concurrent Playoff game will be played during the last 10 races of the year, and will not affect the season-long game. The line-up used for the season-long game will also be used for the Playoff game.
11. This is a free game to play, but there will still be prize money paid out at the end of the year (these numbers are subject to change, according to my financial situation):
Season-long game:
1st place: $100
2nd place: $80
3rd place: $60
4th place: $40
5th place: $20
Playoff game:
1st place: $50
2nd place: $30
3rd place: $20
2025 League Rules (Top 10 game)
1. This game is being run on a trial basis for 2025. If the majority of players like it, it will return in 2026. Five Wide may also make a return in 2026.
2. The rules are pretty simple: for each race, send in a list of 10 driver names (or car numbers) that you think will finish in the top 10 in that particular race.
3. Points are scored as follows: if one of your drivers wins the race, you get 10 points, if one of your drivers finishes 2nd, you get 9 points, and so on down to the 10th place driver gets you 1 point. Drivers do not have to finish in a position that mirrors your list in order to score points for you. For example, if you have the driver that finishes 3rd listed 8th, you still get 3rd place points (8 points).
4. Bonus points are scored as follows: if you get 7 of the top 10, you earn 100 bonus points. 8 out of 10 gets you 250 bonus points. 9 out of 10 gets you 500 bonus points. Getting all 10 of the top 10 gets you 1000 bonus points. ***SUPER DUPER EXTRA BONUS POINTS***: if the final top 10 is in the exact order of the list you submitted, you earn 5000 bonus points.
5. This is also a free game to play, and like the salary cap game, there is prize money paid out at the end of the year (these numbers are subject to change, according to my financial situation):
Season-long game:
1st place: $60
2nd place: $50
3rd place: $40
4th place: $30
5th place: $20
Playoff game:
1st place: $30
2nd place: $20
3rd place: $10
